North Star Coaching Journey
Turn your ministry experience into a coaching practice that equips others to grow
If you’re feeling a tug toward coaching but don’t know how to find clients, talk about what you offer, or choose the right structure for your practice, you’re not alone.
The North Star Coaching Journey helps you clarify your direction, define what you can uniquely offer, and build a simple, steady framework for a coaching or consulting practice that aligns with your calling and fits your ministry rhythm.
FEELING STUCK TRYING TO BUILD A COACHING PRACTICE?
As a pastor or ministry leader, you walk with people through growth, but turning that ministry experience into a coaching or consulting practice can feel unclear and overwhelming.
Without a clear direction, structure, or plan, it can seem like you’re always thinking about coaching but never quite knowing what to do next. You might be asking:
What’s the best way to turn my ministry experience into something people can actually sign up for?
How do I find clients and talk about what I offer without feeling pushy or self-focused?
What kind of coaching or consulting model fits my calling, schedule, and ministry rhythms?
It can be frustrating to feel like you’re putting in effort but not gaining traction. Without clarity on your focus and next steps, it’s easy to stall out, second-guess your calling, or quietly set coaching aside even though you sense God may be inviting you into it.
If so, you may need a process and clear pathway for building a coaching practice that fits your calling.
I’m Angela, Leadership and Strategy Coach and Consultant.
I know the challenges you face as you explore coaching — because I’ve been there too.
When God called me to leave a ministry at its height, I stepped into a season of disorientation. I started consulting simply to fill the gap, unsure how my years of ministry experience would translate.
As I followed God’s leading and invested deeply in learning marketing, business development, and the craft of coaching and consulting, what started in uncertainty slowly grew into a sustainable practice I could never have predicted.
I kept meeting two kinds of ministry friends: those who felt drawn to coaching or consulting but didn’t know where to begin, and those who had already started but felt stuck and unsure how to move forward. I realized this wasn’t a lack of gifting — it was a lack of a clear, steady pathway.
After years of walking with churches and nonprofits of every size, I’ve seen the same pattern again and again: leaders aren’t stuck because of lack of ability — they’re stuck because no one has shown them a clear, steady pathway for shaping their calling into a sustainable coaching or consulting practice.
That’s why I created the North Star Coaching Pathway.
I walk alongside pastors and ministry leaders to help them clarify their identity, discern what they can offer, and build coaching or consulting work that aligns with their ministry rhythm and equips them to serve others with clarity and purpose.
A clear path for building your coaching or consulting work
A four-step process to help you make a clear way forward
How it works
Take a guided journey to a clear, ministry-aligned coaching practice
The North Star Coaching Pathway builds on the Pathmaker Process to help you create a clear and sustainable coaching practice that fits your ministry and calling.
Just as travelers once used the North Star to stay oriented on long journeys, this pathway helps you name your own “North Star” so you can build your work around a clear sense of calling and purpose.
1. Assess the terrain
Clarify your calling, identify who you’re called to serve, understand their needs, and explore the coaching pathways that fit your capacity and purpose.
2. Align your design
Shape a simple, focused coaching model by choosing your visibility channels, designing a meaningful offer, creating clear messaging, and preparing the essentials for your ministry website or landing page.
3. Apply in practice
Begin putting your work into the world through a repeatable framework, relational outreach, early client conversations, and simple ways to nurture interest and build trust.
4. Amplify your impact
Develop sustainable rhythms, strengthen your systems, and plan ahead so your coaching ministry grows at a pace that matches your season, calling, and margin.
